Humanitarians that Deserve Recognition

Prior humanitarians that were recognized by the Hollywood Humanitarian Council include Sean Penn and his J/P Haitian Relief Organization, director of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos, Father Rick Frechette, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and former President of East Timor, Dr. Jose Ramos Horta, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate,  Jody Williams.

Clooney Foundation For Justice

Amal and George Clooney's foundation was created to advance justice in courtrooms, classrooms and communities around the world. Michael J Fox Foundation

Fox was diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991. Upon disclosing his condition in 1998, he committed himself to the campaign for increased Parkinson's research. Fox announced his retirement from "Spin City" in January 2000. Later that year he launched The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, which the New York Times has called "the most credible voice on Parkinson's research in the world."
